Finding Joy in the Journey to Jesus

"They rejoiced exceedingly with great joy!" These words from Matthew's Gospel capture the overwhelming emotion of the Magi upon finding Jesus. It's a joy that continues to echo through centuries and across continents, from ancient Bethlehem to modern-day Africa to our own Pacific Northwest.

The story of the Magi has always fascinated us—learned scholars from the East, following a star, bearing precious gifts for a king they knew only through ancient prophecies and a celestial sign.
