Something New is Coming!!

January 2, 2025

Something exciting is stirring on the horizon...

I'm thrilled to announce a new project that's been close to my heart: a podcast that will bridge timeless Biblical wisdom with our modern journey. Along with some remarkable friends, I'll be launching "Old Paths New Steps" – a space where timeless truth meets contemporary challenges.

Walking in ancient paths with contemporary feet, we'll be exploring the profound intersections of theology, sociology, and science, all through a lens of compassion and hope. This isn't just another podcast – it's an invitation to join us in authentic conversations about trauma, healing, faith, and what it truly means to be human in today's world.

While we're still putting the finishing touches on many details, I couldn't keep this under wraps any longer. There's something powerful about bringing together ancient wisdom and modern understanding, especially when we're all searching for hope and healing in our own ways.

Stay tuned – in the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more about this journey, including introductions to the amazing co-hosts who will be joining me in these conversations.

Sometimes the most meaningful steps forward require us to look both backward and ahead. That's exactly what we'll be doing together.

Nazareth was the ancient equivalent of someone saying, "I'm from nowhere special." It was unremarkable by most standards, a place you'd probably never visit unless you had to…

Finding Joy in the Journey to Jesus

December 28, 2024

"They rejoiced exceedingly with great joy!" These words from Matthew's Gospel capture the overwhelming emotion of the Magi upon finding Jesus. It's a joy that continues to echo through centuries and across continents, from ancient Bethlehem to modern-day Africa to our own Pacific Northwest.

The story of the Magi has always fascinated us—learned scholars from the East, following a star, bearing precious gifts for a king they knew only through ancient prophecies and a celestial sign. But perhaps what's most remarkable isn't just their journey, but how their story continues to repeat itself in surprising ways today…

Navigating Transitions (pt.2): Learning To Grieve Well

January 12, 2024

Grieving well means acknowledging rather than ignoring hardship. It requires leaning into the messy process - facing discomfort head-on versus seeking escape. For when we learn to grieve well, we cultivate resilience, empathy and depth of character. We can translate pain into compassion. Our losses become teachers, equipping us to walk alongside others navigating sorrow.
